PAIRING AN IPHONE TO A SMART TV WHEN USING YOUTUBE

Little did I know, that the video we want to come out as a tutorial but actually made for the brag of having the newborn iPhone5 in its premiere release couple of months ago (September 2012) has caught someone's attention in Youtube. The real agenda we really want to imply with that video is just to encourage our friends on the other sides of the planet to switch their smartphone loyalty to the iPhone realm and not really about the tutorial. Just not to sound significantly commanding, we send our message in an implicit way because I would like to think what's better way to relate with your fellows is to have a common ground. And that is as much as possible acquiring the same gadget and same choice of apps to better enjoy the interaction like FaceTime for example albeit there are Skype, Viber and WeChat; FT is way smoother in terms of buffers. (my opinion!)

Anyway, what's done is done. So, I decided to make an elaborate blog about pairing due to the meanest reason shown below that compels me to do so. And since we single-handedly manipulated the pairing of the iPhone to Smart TV in a quick fashionable manner, we would like to think we are steps ahead from the least geekies. (what a claim!) Well, I want to begin loving harsh critics from this day on because it shuts down your ego (if and only if the critics' point has a point itself), secondly, for the very essentials that it improves you and lastly, it fares you near the ranks of celebrities who earn fans and haters that even taking a bath multiple times could not break even. lol.

Been prompted with an email notification of a comment  from my youtube post and got a disappointed viewer who expressed his/her disgust on the 'tutorial'. Apologies from me to you...Yes, I feel you. I, myself could attest the feeling of loathe to videos I searched so hard, spent time and end-up with a senseless content which did not deliver any help at all. So, makin' up to you, I'll make ample efforts this time.

First things first, I would like to assume everybody knows that a Smart TV is required to have an Internet connection (router supported or USB wifi adapter supported) to use the Youtube.  Granted you already knew, you proceed to the Smart TV's main menu when using internet where in Samsung's case it's called Smart Hub then select the youtube icon.

Using your Smart TV's remote you can manipulate the selections on the TV screen.  Go to 'My Youtube'  and then you have 2 options there (Sign In & Pair). PS: If you don't see the Pair option in your TV screen just keep pressing the right arrow control of your remote till you see the hidden options.

In your iPhone, you go to Safari then search Youtube. After the search engine shows the page results, you select the  second link above or the web browser version of Youtube and not the App counterpart of it. Why? because the App version don't show the Setting button. To speed up the process you can also key-in directly youtube.com/pair in the url engine.

Here's the layout look of the web browser  version in the iPhone. In the left side you see the Activity, scroll down and look for the 'Settings' button.

Pick the Settings Button.

Still in the iPhone, there goes the Settings register (the pairing code).  Then, it's time to go back on your Smart TV.

This is the TV's page after selecting the 'Pair' button previously or you can also use the scan code (right) if you have the Code Scanner App available in your phone.

Back in the iPhone Settings, enter the code generated in the Smart TV. Then,  pick 'Add this TV' button. You can also create a unique name for your TV below the pairing code register.

Then, you know when it is successfully paired if the phone shows up in the connected device. Once you're paired you don't have to repeat all of these the next time you connect your phone to smart TV. You just go directly to the smart TV's Youtube icon and search instantly in your phone.

Then, on the same page in the iPhone, you pick the search icon (magnifying glass) and select  videos you wanted to play.

After you searched the video in your phone it appears like this. Then,  choose preferably the video with higher views for good quality assurance.

Then hit the play button. You can also queue videos to play but it doesn't work properly in the iPhones because it interrupts the current running video if you select other videos but still it compiles your selection in queue. It works perfectly in the iPads where 'Add to Queue' button is shown in the screen which protect your current running videos from interruption. (That was before, now with the new iOS updates it already works perfectly fine in the iPhones!)

then,  the Smart TV syncs....We had a blast the past holidays we had in the house during the year-end, it was oozing with awesomeness! since we are music lovers we enjoyed the hottest and latest songs of the year that we come to sing along with it's karaoke versions in youtube.

Head-to-head Youtube Concert. This was during the Christmas Eve lasted till the sunrise... so far, no complaints from the neighbors. Nice sign to pursue our singing careers. lol.

And here is my youtube video who gave birth to this blog post.
